40-year-old Zack Fox is sitting in his office at the local Zoo of a large city, Zack is the director of the Zoo, which houses all kinds of animals: Elephants, Tigers, Lions, Panthers, ever known primate species, Dolphins, Seals, Giraffes, Meerkats, Porcupines, every known reptile species, Wolves, Foxes and even insects.
Zack is proud of HIS zoo, but one issue keeps nagging at him, he feels like his zoo could use more animals, his animals produced offsprings, however in fewer numbers than in the wild, some animals even seem to reject potential mates, so mating happens rarely.
Currently Zack is scrolling through his phone, when an add catches his attention: “Reality Editor”.
Zack’s curiosity awakes and he decides to download and install the app, once installed the man opens the manual and reads, his eyes widening the more he reads, and by the time he has finished reading the manual, he has a grin on his face, “I think I just found a way to solve my issue by adding more animals to my zoo,” he says to himself. Zack smirks, looking towards the window of his office, watching the groups of people walking by, “and I have enough… “volunteers” to help me out… hehe… my zoo will be the best zoo in the whole world!”
A knock tears Zack out of his imagination, with a sigh, the man says, “enter”.
The door opens and a young woman with a young boy, maybe 6 years old, walk in, “sir, this boy lost his parents,” the woman says.
Zack mental grins, ‘perfect the first “volunteer”… hehe,’ he thinks to himself, “thanks Jill, I’ll take it from here”. The woman nods before turning around and leaving the office, closing the door behind her, “then, tell me kid, what happened,” Zack asks in a friendly voice, smiling kindly at the boy.
The boy looks up at the man, tears of fear in his eyes, “I… we were in the reptile house,” the boy sniffles, “I… I was looking at… at a big snake, my parents were right next to me. But… but when I turned to as my daddy what snake it was, daddy was gone! And when… when I turned to where my mommy was standing… she… she too was gone”. New tears roll down the boy’s cheeks, “pl-please… mister! Please, help me find them!”
Zack nods, “of course I’ll help you, what is your name?”
“T-Toby… Toby Daniels,” the boy, Toby, says.
Zack nods again, picking up his phone, “let’s see what my special app will tell us,” he says.
“Spe-special app,” Toby asks.
Zack nods, “yes, I have programmed an app that allows me to track every single visitor of my zoo,” he lies, “by typing your name into the app, I’ll not only will receive every information about you, like your age, interests, desires… but also I’ll be able to pinpoint exactly where your parents are,” he continues.
The boy’s eyes widen, “whoa… that is so cool, sir,” he says.
Zack chuckles, the boy’s reaction is exactly as he thought it would be, kids are so easy to manipulate, “yeah, it is pretty cool,” he says, “and you may call me Zack”.
“Oh… okay,” Toby says, smiling as he relaxes, “th-thanks for helping me find my parents”.
Zack smirks inwardly, ‘oh… you will join your “parents” soon enough,’ he thinks to himself as he types the boy’s name into the app and waits for his stats to appear.
