Maria sat down on the sofa, and said, "This is all a bit much. I'm not sure what to think." As she watched, the door they had just walked through, from Ty's family's living room to their own, faded away, leaving blank wall, and then their living room shrank back to its normal size, eliminating even the wall space where the door had been. "Did that all really happen?"
"Yes," said Diego. "For all practical purposes, Ty really can do magic."
"I don't like it," said Maria. "I'm not sure we should let Lisa keep seeing Ty. She should have no problem finding a normal boyfriend."
"I doubt that we can stop it. If she loves him, and we forbid it, they'll just meet in secret," Diego said. "Ordering her to break it off would just undermine our own authority."
"You're right, of course," Maria said.
"Besides, Ty doesn't seem to have caused any harm," Diego continued. "I don't think he ever will hurt Lisa. Or us."
"I don't know. Maybe you should have another private talk with him." Maria suggested. "June said Ty revealing his powers to his family was 'rough'. I wish we knew more about that."
Diego thought for a moment. "Maybe we should try to meet Mark and June without Lisa and Ty present, and see if they'll open up about it. Or even just you and June."
"I'll call June later, and try to arrange it," Maria said.
