Lisa and Ty excused themselves and went to his bedroom.
"I think my dad is finally convinced," Lisa said." I'm not sure whay my mom thinks, but I can tell she doesn't like it. She probably wants the whole 'problem' to just go away."
"Go away how?" Ty asked.
"Well, it's obviously too late to put the genie back in the bottle," she said, "and I never thought I would use that phrase so literally. I suspect that she's considering asking me to break up with you. Maybe the reveal was a mistake, and we should have kept your abilities secret."
"She wouldn't really make you do that, would she?"
"Mom doesn't easily get worked up about things," Lisa explained, "but when she does, she can be pretty obstinate. If she's thinking along those lines, I hope dad disagrees and can talk her down."
Ty hung his head. "I should have taken the hint with her comments about the show, and your hair color, and not wanting to know how I perform the 'illusions'."
"It's not your fault," Lisa said. She hugged him. "You haven't been around her very long. I'm the one who ignored the signs."
"It doesn't matter," Ty said. "But is there anything we can do to improve things?"
"First we have to find out what their reaction is," Lisa pointed out. "We can't address their concerns until we know what they are."
"I suppose you're right," Ty said. "I was so wrapped up in my expectation that we'd pull off the reveal and everything would be perfect, that I never considered that it might backfire."
"Maybe your parents might have some ideas or advice," Lisa said. "They're pretty smart, and they've been through worse."
"You're right, we should ask them."
Lisa and Ty headed back to the living room, hoping to talk to Mark and June.
