Back to where the control panels were broken or missing, the operating manuals were missing, rubbish was strewn around, Cock was asleep at the switch, and Maintenance Agent 27B was frozen. She waved her arm, allowing 27B to speak.
"Lisa?" 27B asked.
"Oh, sorry," Ty said, and transformed the body she was inhabiting back to the usual Ty body. "That was a side effect of what I had to go through to get the spare control panels."
27B was stunned. "And you got them?"
"Yes," said Ty. "If I release you, will you let me show you, before rushing to fix and activate the Emergency Stop?"
"Yes," said 27B. "If they're real. I still can't believe it possible."
Ty released 27B, and said, "Please follow me," leading her through the doorway.
27B said, "These are the right panels, yes, but I can't use them."
"Why the hell not," asked Ty.
"They're already in use," 27B said, pointing at the main monitor, "for her."
Unbelievable, Ty thought. "Just a moment," he said. He transformed Mini-Me's body into a small block of wood, being careful to ensure that this was done with no change whatsoever to Mini-Me's mind. All the indicators on all the control panels went out. The main monitor now showed... nothing.
"There," Ty said. "A complete duplicate Lisa Main Control Room, with no Lisa to control. Please remove the control panels from here, and fix Lisa."
27B nodded, and walked back into Lisa's MCR, with Ty following, ready to freeze her if she headed back to the panel with the Emergency Stop switch. She didn't. She walked to the main panel, where Cock was sleeping, and reached past him, to pick up the telephone handset. Then she noticed the lack of a cord.
Ty pulled the handset cord from his pocket, and handed it to her. "I had to remove it, to keep Cock here from causing trouble."
27B nodded, and plugged in the cord. She dialed a number with the keypad on the panel. "27B here," she said over the phone. "We've got an absolutely huge repair job needed in Main Control. Please send another dozen agents." There was a pause. "Yes, really a dozen. You see how many telltales are showing faults, don't you?" After a moment she set down the handset.
Ty apologized to her. "I'm sorry for freezing you. I had to have enough time to get the spares."
"It's alright," 27B replied. "I'm glad you did. I _really_ didn't want to activate Emergency Stop, even though it was my duty. You've saved Lisa."
"Well, I sure hope so," Ty said. "But there's obviously a lot of work to be done yet. And I still have to locate Lisa. The operator. Is there anything here that would help with that?"
"You don't know where the operator is?" 27B asked, incredulously. "No, there's nothing here that can find her. How did she go missing?"
"Apparently when Cock took over," he said, pointing at Cock, "the operator wandered off. I'll have to search for her."
"You'd better hurry. The system won't be stable indefinitely without an operator, and he," 27B said, gesturing at Cock, "is not qualified."
"I know," said Ty. "That's how all this damage occurred."
About that time, more Maintenance Agents arrived, and looked around in disbelief. 27B explained the situation to them, and showed them through the doorway, to the Mini-Me MCR they were about to dismantle.
"I'll leave you to it," Ty told 27B. "Cock and I will search for the operator."
"Good luck," said 27B, and started supervising the repair operation.
Ty woke Cock, and said, "Come with me. We're going to find Lisa."
