Kat laughed and threw back her hair. It flew behind her, and then started to slide off her head. Her face slipped, and her clothing sagged. Dan skittered backward on all fours sniffing a terrifying smell. Every instinct in his mousy body yelled run, but his human curiousity held his eyes locked on his sister as she sluffed off her skin and clothing. A giant snake glared at the trembling mouse that had been her brother.
Kat stretched her jaws wide as her Jacob's gland offered her new sensory experiences.
Seeing the gaping chasm of death looming before him, Dan bolted leaping over a chair and darting out the door. He heard the crash of furniture shattering as the giant snake smashed the chair and who knows what else as she moved in search of her dinner. Dan had hoped that at her size, she might be trapped in the room. The door jamb creaked as her massive skull pushed through the doorway, her scaled ribbed body followed easily behind as she lunged down the hallway smashing pictures, bookshelves and other furnishings as her cylindrical body filled the hallway. Her tongue darted out tasting Dan's fear in the air as she pursued her quarry.
