Jake was tempted to change "lawyers" to something like "models" or "hookers". But at the same time, he wasn't sure he'd want to find himself attracted to them. It felt...gay, since he knew they were men before. He just didn't know what he wanted to change the word to, by nixing those.
Luckily, the app suggested some options for him as he highlighted the word "lawyers". There were some funny options, like "dogs" or "crossdressers", but the one he landed on was "toddlers". He selected it.
What he expected to happen was to see five toddlers in the room, trying to read briefs. Instead, something much bigger happened. The world spun around Jake. When it finally stopped spinning, he wasn't at a law office. He was at a daycare!
The walls were covered in bright decorations, the floor was soft, and there were toys. So many toys!
Jake looked around, confused. Then he looked down. His suit had been replaced with a daycare worker uniform! There was even a name tag on his shirt, explaining he was the daycare's assistant manager. At least he didn't lose his promotion.
"All right, boys, time for a potty check," Sophia's voice said. Jake looked up. Sophia, wearing a uniform like him, was standing in front of five toddler boys. It didn't take a genius to figure out that these were the former lawyers. As Jake watched, Sophia checked each of the boy's underwear for accidents. "Remember, if you kept your underwear clean, you get to go on the field trip on Monday."
Okay, so the app had interpreted "briefs" to mean underwear. Now the lawyers' preparations for their briefs for Monday was keeping them clean to go on a trip. Honestly, if Jake hadn't been turned into a daycare employee, he'd love this.
But he didn't put himself through law school to change diapers and wipe noses at a daycare. And, judging by the look on Sophia's face as she checked Tom, he at least would still need diapers.
Jake quickly took out his phone, determined to do something about his new, sadder life.
