Linda Michaels sat behind her desk looking at the images she had printed out of Lilith Kane and Lilith's daughter, Alyssa. She shook her head at these two and looked at an old picture of Ezekiel Kane she had kept with her for years.
"Oh Ezekiel, your daughter and granddaughter are lost in this horrible world, but don't worry, I'll make sure they both find their way back to the path of the righteous." Linda placing her hand gently over Ezekiel's picture.
"The path of the righteous," Briar scoffed from her cage. "More like the path of the zealots." Linda slammed her hand down on her desk and made the cage in which Briar was trapped in shake.
"Do not disgrace his name. What Ezekiel did, he did for the good of the world. But the world sought not to listen to him." Linda said holding Ezekiel's picture close to her heart before a knocking came to the door.
"One moment!" Linda called out as she put the picture away in her desk. "Enter." Linda called out as Seraphim entered Linda's office.
"Ah, Eliza, how are you doing today?" Linda said greeting Seraphim or Sophie whom she called 'Eliza' with a smile.
"I'm....alright, but I can't get that woman and girl out of my head. Mother, who are they?" Eliza asked as she sat down in a chair and Linda took a deep breath and began her story.
"The woman once long ago was part of our previous church's community when she was but a young lamb. But like so many of our flock, she turned her back on our word and left, but not on her own accord. Like so many out there, she was....corrupted by those heathens that blight our world. Magicians, werewolves, vampires, she is involved with them, and unfortunately it seems, so is the girl, her young daughter. It breaks my heart to see two souls from such a devout family have strayed from the path for so long." Linda said as she got up and handed the pictures over to Eliza to look them over.
Eliza looked closely at the woman and young girl. The woman she looked at more closely than the girl, but the did seem to look like someone she had seen long ago somewhere, she thought.
"So....what would you have me do?" Eliza now asked as Linda gave a kind smile and went over to her.
"Why my dear child, isn't it obvious? We bring them back into our flock. I've seen our lord work many miracles in my life and if there's anything I know in my heart, it's that there is always a chance for those who walk on the path of wicked may be redeemed." Linda said holding her hand gently on Eliza's shoulder.
"Your next task is to bring that woman and her child to me, so that we may bring them back into the light. I believe that with them by our side, our savior will look upon us favorably. Now go, and bring our kin back to us." Linda said to Eliza who gave her a nod.
"I won't let you down mother." Eliza said as she left Linda's office.
"I can't believe you tossed out that religious bullshit onto her." Briar said shaking her head.
"Oh it wasn't all bullshit, my dear Briar. Lilith Kane and her daughter Alyssa have been corrupted by all those in the magic community who claim to be helping the world, when they have been blinded by them. Ezekiel, oh my beloved Ezekiel, fear not, I will bring our family together again." Linda said as she went over to her window and smiled out of it as she felt the sun bathe on her body.
