Damon was dead. He had committed a desperate act that could have been avoided if only he had sought help in time. He needed not go to extreme ends. Duly regretted, his belongings were sold by his parents and relatives so as to make more money, like the vile vultures they were. This included the genie's lamp. But his family did not know that it was a magical item. Indeed the very object of magic which had allowed Damon to become famous, indeed with disastrous consequences. His relatives assumed that it was a simple knickknack without any true value. So everything was sold online, singly or in bulk . The lamp was part of it. The genie, meanwhile, waited. She was used to doing as a genie, after all.
The genie did not just slumber once in the lamp, sleeping until another mortal called upon her. True, she slept a lot if she felt like it, but the lamp was its own tiny dimension. The genie lived in a huge penthouse, adding rooms if needed and though it opened upon nowhere with no windows - it WAS a lamp after all - with all the luxuries she could desire. The Internet provided all sorts of new things for her to be entertained with. So waiting was no worry for her. She was unaware of what the lamp was going through so the next master she would get was a surprise. She loved tricking mortals. It was ALWAYS the same wishes: money and sex. Most revolved around these. A huge majority, in fact. So she had fun purposefully misunderstanding the wishes. Seeing their reaction was so funny! If the person was a child or a good person, she was kind, but most of the time she simply acted mischievously. So she waited, happy to be a trickster genie once she was let loose upon the outside.
