Macy blinked. “Did… did the lights just flicker?”
“No, that was me,” Jess said, staring down at her hands. “I feel… strong. Like, I could bench press a car.”
Suddenly, Macy’s eyes glowed faintly. “Wait—I think I just scanned your heart rate. And I know your blood type now. Jess… I think I’m Batgirl with actual gadgets.”
They looked at each other in wide-eyed shock. Then simultaneously: “We have superpowers?!”
From the shadows, Ryan’s eyes lit up. “Dude, this is awesome. They’re really buying into it.”
Billy gulped. “This is getting real. Should we stop?”
“No way. Let’s dial it up.”

Back in the store, Jess suddenly leaped—straight up to the ceiling and floated back down. “Okay... that’s new.”
Macy pulled a phone from her belt—where had that come from?—and it opened a full schematic of the mall’s layout. “Jess… I think I just hacked the mall’s security system.”
They turned to each other, realization dawning.
"Let's go stop some mall crime or something?" Jess joked.
Macy smirked. “Let’s go. Wonder Jess and Bat Macy are on the case.”
