The sun had set, and it being a Friday, the party scene on her city's main streets had flared up. She found her way through the crowds to a seat at her favorite bar, Sevens. It was a nice place for pool hustlers and card sharks, but it had a well-stocked bar separate from the gaming room and she had a lot of fun talking with the other patrons whenever she came.
As a matter of fact, she recognized one of them just two stools away. His name was Leon, or so he had said. Mary always wondered if he made up the name to sound cool to strangers. She'd gladly give a hundred dollars just for a look at his birth certificate and laugh over the given name of "Bob," or something like that. She ordered a drink and waited for him to notice her. With her hair, how could he not? After a few minutes he had given her a couple of favoring glances, but it didn't seem as if he recognized her. Once the stools between them vacated, she slunk over next to him.
"Hey, Leon," she said in a sly, deep voice. She didn't quite know why she was behaving overly sexy, but guessed it had to do with the hair. "It's me, Mary."
Leon's blue eyes lit up, darting from her face to her mane. "Mary Mary! Wow, you're looking more contrary than ever!'" Mary winced. The only thing she disliked about Leon was his constant use of the old nursery rhyme whenever he used her name.
"What's all this, then?" he gesticulated to her hair. "Mid-life crisis? Are you a model for hair products?"
"That depends...do you like it?" she pulled her head closer to his to give him a better look.
"Love it!" he cried. "That do deserves a drink!" He motioned the bartender for a refill, then gave the glass to Mary. "Cheers on a bold new look!"
They downed their drinks and Mary accidentally let the glass leave her lips too soon. A few dribbles of brandy fell onto her leg. Leon offered his napkin, but Mary ignored him and lifted her knee up to lick off the spill with her tongue. Even after it was taken care of, she continued licking, making sure her entire knee was perfectly clean. When she realized what she was doing, she quickly dropped her leg and blushed.
Leon looked at her funny. "You couldn't be that drunk yet," he said. "Was that some kind of turn-on thing?"
She was afraid now. First the hair, then her weird licking. He was going to think she was insane. Mary smiled a broad, fake smile and hoped Leon would believe it was real. "What will turn you on, Leon?" she said, adding emphasis on the rhyme. Now it was her turn to make bad jokes about his name. She put a hand on his leg and a soft rumble began to sound from the depths of her throat.
"Just keep coming closer to me and you'll find out," he said, putting an arm around her. Mary purred louder and she licked her lips. They looked deeply into each other's eyes and pressed their lips together. They kissed and kissed, caught in the moment when they finally admitted their attraction to each other. Mary's mane fell across both their faces. Their first romantic encounter lasted for an eternity, until Mary got a bit too excited.
"Ow!" Leon pulled back, holding his mouth.
"Oh!" Mary cried, realizing she had bit his lip on instinct. "I'm so sorry!" Suddenly the bestial urges subsided as Mary reeled in fear of what she had done. She wasn't one to so forcefully put the moves on a man, much less bite his lip during a kiss.
"Don't be," Leon said. "I'm somewhat of a biter myself. Maybe this isn't the right place for the rest of our discussion."
