A new idea crept into Sophia’s mind, and her eyes twinkled with mischief.
She highlighted the sentence and typed: "This daycare attends boys and girls." Then, she deleted "boys and" and replace in “only girls.”
With a tap, the sentence was confirmed. The room shifted, and Sophia’s eyes widened as she looked around. She hadn’t expected the change to be so drastic.
The little boys she had been watching over—the six adorable sextuplets—were no longer boys at all. They were now little girls. Jane, still happily playing with her dollhouse, suddenly found herself believing that she had always been a little girl, and her new “brothers” were her sisters now.
Sophia’s lips curled into a satisfied grin. She’d always found the girls easier to manage—less loud, less rambunctious—and now she had a daycare full of them.
Before she could continue experimenting with the app, her attention was diverted by a sharp voice calling out from across the room.
"Sophia! Can you please help me with the new snack schedule?"
Sophia groaned but nodded, absentmindedly placing the phone inside some random lady’s bag instead of her own.
Back in the daycare, Jane’s eyes darted around the room. She was still holding the dollhouse in her hands, but something felt... different. The world around her seemed unfamiliar in subtle ways. There was an odd shift in her mind, a tugging sensation, like a memory was trying to resurface but couldn’t quite reach her.
And then it clicked. The other kids were... girls. All of them. Even her brothers—who were now her sisters. The thought made her head spin, her tiny hands clutching the dollhouse tighter as she began to slowly stand up. She hadn’t noticed before, but the feeling was growing stronger now. Something was wrong. She needed to get to that phone—now.
