From his extending head and torso feeding into it, his eyes going to the side of his growing head, and his limbs turning into tentacles, with more growing along side them, Gabriel figured he was turning into an Octopus. Wait, but he had 10 limbs? But he was still changing, and he also noticed he was growing much bigger relative to his surrounds. Which means he might end up beached.
Stuck in a partial panic, and also feeling his new fishy instincts and knowledge starting to kick in, Gabriel used any locomotion he could to go deeper into the ocean water. His physical changes finished at some point, and so did his mental changes, but he was still a bundle of emotions and just followed his squiddy instincts to keep going farther and deeper. He at some point finally stopped when a shadow of a large object passed over him, although his new 360 vision made it clear, a combination of his instincts and human mind went into a very short battle with the human mind winning out and saying it the object was not a predator and just a very large boat. An oceanliner or cargo ship even.
And with that, Gabriel's first calm of being a very large female squid came. There was no major conflict now. Although the squid part of him was beyond confirming any specific details, SHE was a very large squid. One that the big fish (whales?) hunted at times. One that was larger then other big squids. One that laid the eggs and took in the life liquid (oh god, sperm!) from males. But she was also Gabriel.
There was no battle of the minds, however. Gabriel was just getting use to somehow having an experienced life, knowledge, and instincts of a large female squid thrown into her own. One might'ave took the earlier conflicts as contradictory to this, but this was also happening during a panic of survival. In less then minutes she was feeling more and more normal just floating in the water, down to subtle movements she made to not move in any given direction, including the new world of elevation, or depth to be more accurate, and processing her 360 vision just fine. Gabriel understood the Boat above her, at least as much as any non-boat enthusiast or expert could, but the Squid was helping with understanding the life and terrain around, and her new body. And she wanted to go deeper. But Gabriel reminded herself that she shouldn't, she should really think about her situation. She just hoped her mental changes wouldn't make her dumber in some way, or gradually turned into a full squid mentally. There were all sorts of way transformations could turn out from her transformation teachings.
So with her taking in things better, she wanted to go deeper for several reasons, and laid them out as such to under them better with her human side.
1. She felt somewhat uncomfortable near the surface. Gabriel was able to interpret that she was built much more for deep water environments. Although her squid knowledge couldn't comprehend units of distance, she was able to understand the sun and not being able to see it, but her eyes still saw very well in the dark.
2. The big fish, the predators were more common up here. Whales, she corrected herself. The bigger ones would still try to hunt her at her even at her size, and she knew she wasn't a brawler as her human part filled in.
3. She was hungry, and her preferred prey were deeper. She wasn't that knowledgeable about the animals up here.
There were other reasons but they became less specific or detailed for a human to sort out, but Gabriel countered against the above reasons:
1. Ultimately, Gabriel was Gabriel. She just didn't want to leave her life behind. Thats why she threw her shorts away with the wallet, correct?
2. If she got the help she needed, she might be safer above rather then below.
Unknown if there were more subtle changes to her mind, Gabriel decided with...
