On the way downstairs, june whispered something to Ty, and he nodded in agreement. Lisa looked at him quizically, but he just smiled enigmatically. They sat down at the dining room table, and June started dishing up dinner. There were the usual dinner conversations about school and work. Nothing too earthshaking.
June asked if anyone wanted seconds, and got no takers. She said, "There is apple pie if you'd like some," and she got a few polite refusals. "Maybe later," Dustin said.
June said, "We had planned to play board games after dinner, but Ty wants to invite us to a little more, ... exotic... after dinner activity."
All eyes swiveled to Ty. Mark and Dustin looked puzzled.
Ty said, "You all are interested in space, right?" Every head nodded. "How'd you like to see it up close and personal?"
Dustin said, "Really?", bubbling with enthusiasm. Mark was too stunned to say anything.
"Let's help mom clean up, and then everyone come up to my room."
Once the dishes were done, and everyone assembled in Ty's bedroom, Ty did a few checks. He made sure the station's life support had sufficient capacity for all of them, and that there were spacesuits to fit them all. Then he suggested, "Let's hold hands. That makes it a bit easier for me."
They held hands, and then, in the blink of an eye, Ty's bedroom disappeared, and the control room of Jupiter Supercomputing Facility I appeared around them. Ty willed a couch and more chairs unto existence in case anyone wanted to sit, but they were all too enraptured by the view from the window to move.
