Ty sat down, while everyone else stared slack-jawed out the window, at the view from Jupiter orbit. It wasn't that he'd become blasé about the view, though he had spent nearly half an hour staring at its earlier in the day. It was outer space, after all. But his enthusiasm for it was somewhat tempered by why he was here at all. It had been necessary to create this facility to restore Lisa, after a transformation gone horribly wrong. After a while, Lisa sat down next to him, and he put his arm around her.
She snuggled up to him, and whispered, "Sorry!"
"Sorry?", Ty asked.
"For putting you through all this! You had reservations about that transformation from the outset, and I made you do it!" she whispered. "I'll never again make you do a transformation you're uncomfortable with."
"Thank you!" Ty whispered back. "I'm just glad that I was successful at restoring you!"
The others gradually took seats, and continued to look out the window. June looked at the JSF1 dedication plaque, then approached Ty and Lisa. Quietly, she said, "You don't have to tell me what happened, but _please_ be more careful."
"Yes, mom," Ty said, sheepishly.
Eventually Ty sensed Dustin and Mark getting restless. "Is everyone ready to go back?" Everyone was.
Ty said, "For about half an hour, just before we ate dinner, this facility was the second-brightest object in the solar system, at least in infrared. It will still be cooling off for quite some time. This may cause a bit of a stir among astronomers. The five of us are the first human beings to travel beyond Earth orbit, but I recommend that you keep that to yourselves, as no one would believe it. Now let's hold hands again."
The JSF1 control room vanished, and they were back in Ty's bedroom.
