Since the last day of May would be on a Saturday in 2025, that meant that the first day of June of that year would be on a Sunday. And if the first day of the month lands on a Sunday, the second Friday of the month would land on the 13th, which is all kinds of ominous (but only if you're superstitious). But luck (either good or bad) could be blamed for these few incidents.

Both the Russian soldier, diplomat, and the State Department official were set on appearing with Horizon Labs in court when they were contacted by an unusual number: Heather, having learned about what was going on during the Memorial Day Conversions, had opened a video call with the three and, in it, she gave a remorseful, teary-eyed, account on what happened when she lost control of her hunter/predatory instincts after becoming a Syntixisaurus Rex Animalian.
While the news had covered both Heather's attack on Roland, and the trial that followed, it was immediately clear that none of them had heard this side of the story. Fortunately, there was also a "crash course" on the behaviors and instincts of animals that people who want to become Animalians can take, mainly to debunk myths and misconceptions about the species. So, for now at least, the court case against Animalia was dropped.

While Chrissy and Marcy were patching things up with their relationships, a case of unexpected luck hit both of them. Chrissy's declaration of herself as a matriarch of her, future, herd had an unintended (if quite amusing) consequence: she was now taking "matriarch" classes with Nzinga, mainly on what being a herd matriarch means, and what would be expected of her. While, secretly, she was glad for these classes, the loooong lectures she had to endure was making her regret her declaration.
Marcy, on the other hand, as a 'reward' for completing her four-punishment system, was introduced to Nzingas' youngest grandson, who was uplifted with her during the Zoo outbreak, but only received a single dose before getting vaccinated. Now he was grown, but still rather naïve about human societal mores, which Marcy was more than happy to help him with.
