Henry, by now, realized that the squirrel is male, due to the animal’s sheath noticeable out the corner of his eye.
“Kenji sounds like a good name,” the squirrel says.
“Kenji Davis… yeah… sounds cool,” Henry says, “it sounds Japanese, so we’d have to transform you into a Japanese boy. How old would you want to be?”
“Make me a year older than you,” the squirrel says.
Henry nods, typing in to the app, “how long would you want to stay a human?”
“Hm… I’d say… start with six months,” the squirrel says, “we can still extend it, should it be necessary”.
“Alright,” Henry says, adding the duration to the setting, “would you want the transformation to be instant or take an hour?”
“I’d like to watch myself change,” the squirrel says, “an hour is fine”.
Henry nods, “alright, now… you’ll need clothes,” he says, “we can’t have you running around naked”.
“I never understood that with you humans,” the animal says, “I mean… what’s so bad about it?”
“Well, for one, we would freeze since we have no fur,” Henry says “and for two… it’s just not accurate for us humans to be naked, except when we are in private and not in public”.
“I see… well, I guess I’ll be learning a lot,” the squirrel says.
“Yeah, but I’ll be there to help you,” Henry says, smiling.
The squirrel smiles back, “once this is over,” it says, “I’d like to show and teach you MY ways… the way of an animal”.
Henry grins, “I’d love that,” he says, “anyway, everything is set up and the reality alteration is active, everyone except us will think you’ve always been my 11-year-old adopted brother “Kenji Davis”. The reality alteration will cause a room, which will be your bedroom, including a wardrobe with clothes that fit you, a desk, a laptop, a phone and everything you’ll need to materialize”.
“Wow… alright,” the squirrel says, “hit it!”
Henry chuckles, “should we have missed anything… we can always add it later”.
“Sounds good,” the squirrel says, then shivers when Henry confirms the transformation, “I’ll never get used to that sensation”.
“At least it’s not painful,” Henry says.
“True,” the squirrel says, “hey… I think something is happening… I… I feel myself growing,” the squirrel jumps from Henry’s should onto the bed and Henry watches in awe as the tiny animal slowly starts to grow, its body looking less and less like an animal as its fur resides and its limbs change.
As the squirrel grows, crack and pops can be heard as its bones rearrange themselves, “eesh… that sounds painful,” Henry says, grimacing.
The transforming animal nods, the fur on its head looking more like hair, and the color had changed from red to black, “yeah… but luckily it isn’t,” it says, its voice sounding more and more like a young human boy’s, “wow… my voice sounds so different,” the now naked Japanese boy says.
Henry blushes and turns away, “y-you can… um… check yourself out… in the mirror on my wardrobe,” he mumbles, sounding embarrassed.
The former animal, now an 11-year-old naked Japanese boy with fair skin, brown eyes and smooth short black hair and an average 11-year-old athletic body named “Kenji Davis”, tilts his head, “what’s wrong, Henry,” he asks.
“Um… y-you are naked,” Henry mumbles.
Kenji looks down at himself, then back at the 10-year-old, “so?”
Henry sighs, “I’ve said… for humans, it’s a no-no to be naked around others,” he says.
“I see,” Kenji simply says, “you humans and your… laws and feelings are weird,” he then says as he walks over to Henry’s mirror. Kenji’s eyes widen and his mouth opens wide in amazement and shock, “holy… crap! Is that… really me?!”
Henry turns around, still blushing, “y-yeah… so… what… what do you think,” he asks, “y-you like it?”
Kenji tilts his head, turning around, checking himself out from every angle, “this body… it feels weird, but not unpleasant,” he says, his voice sounding thoughtful, “and I do like how I look”.
Henry smiles, “I’m glad you like the new you, at least for the next six months,” he says, “let me show you your room”.
Kenji follows Henry to a room that hadn’t been there before, directly between Jeff’s and Henry’s room, a door had appeared, and when Henry opens it and the boys step in, both let out gasps. The room looks just like any average 11-year-old’s:
A bed with Spider-Man covers, posters of superheros on the walls, a desk with a laptop, next to it lies a phone, in a corner of the room there are some bean bags in front of a TV and what seems to be a gaming console.
“Whoa! This… this is amazing,” Henry says.
“Yeah… and scary,” Kenji replies, “that program really has some crazy powers. It could cause so much chaos in the wrong hands!”
Henry nods, “yeah… I don’t want to imagine,” he says, he then turns to his “adopted brother”, “why don’t you put on some clothes? I could show you the neighborhood”.
“Alright, sounds good to me,” Kenji says, walking to his wardrobe and opening it, letting out a whistle at the sight of the clothes. Kenji picks out a blue t-shirt with the Superman logo on the front, some blue jeans, white socks and a black boxer brief, thanks to his new knowledge, the former squirrel has no issue putting the clothes on. “These things feel so… wrong,” he grumbles before letting out a sigh, “well, I’ll get used to it,” he then says.
“Yeah, and I’ll be always there to help, Kenji,” Henry says.
Kenji smiles, “I’m actually looking forward to learning about you humans,” he says.
Henry smiles, “then let’s get outta here,” he says, leading Kenji down the stairs and after putting on some sneakers, the two boys leave the house.
