Oscar just blinked and looked at his wife of almost 15 years, they had had their oldest daughter before they got married. He thought he knew everything or everything important about her. He knew what she liked and didn’t like but he hadn’t known she hadn’t been a human this entire time. She was a cat person, a cheetah woman to be precise.
For her part, Rose’s heart was in her chest beating so fast it was pounding in her head. This was the riskiest part of the “reveal” that is what every one of the people she knew who had done this told her before she left home to find love. She had heard stories both the magical ones of true love and those horror stories of violence. Her daughter had welcomed her cathood with a smile but that was just awakening something within her blood. Her husband wasn’t….
“A were-cheetah….” Laughed Oscar as they stood in the shower, his laughter was something Rose hadn’t expected, it sounded more amusing than anything else. “A were-cheetah, you have got to be kidding me?”
Before Rose say anything to question her husband’s reaction, his body began to shift.
He grew in size a couple of inches which threw Rose off as she backed off a bit, her eyes widened as tannish fur began to grow over her husband’s chest. Slightly darker fur grew over the rest of his body, his muscles became more defined, he had always been strong looking but not over the top, now he looked like he spent countless hours in the gym. His mess of black hair which he always kept in a semi wild style grew slightly as well as extended down the side of his head and around his throat into a wild mass…a mane.
Her eyes widened as his face pushed out into a short muzzle as a tail also came out and brushed against her leg before going to play against her own tail.
“A were-lion?” inquired Rose stunned “You’re a were-lion”
“Yes, from the Northeastern lake pride.” explained Oscar with a playful grin, he was clearly ammused by his wife's stunned expression. “you?”
“Southern Ridge Pride.” Answered Rose, Oscar’s pride was across half the country compared to her own before laughing. “Fuck, we where both were-cats and didn’t know.”
“Yah…” laughed Oscar “So why did you reveal yourself now?”
“I have been recalled, well me and the small pride I came here with.” Explained Rose “They are dealing with their mates currently.”
"Hopefully they will not make fun of you for not knowing your husband was also a were-cat." offered Oscar
"One of them found out her husband is a were-wolf that is unlikely." stated Rose
"A were-wolf." stated Oscar "Your elders will be upset by that, I know ours would be."
"True." confirmed Rose, truth be told the elders wouldn't be too happy with her. The goal of going out to find mates to bring into the pride was to find fresh none were-cat blood to bring into the pride. However Oscar's pride was across the entire nation so his "blood" wasn't linked to the pride in any real way, so they will not be too upset. "Well the were-wolves have been recalled as well, to the same spot truth be told."
Oscar raised an eyebrow at that news.
"Something is up there." he added.
“True… well we have some time, why don’t we properly mate in our true form?” offered Rose with smile as she moved closer, her hand moving up to his face.
“I thought you would never ask.” confirmed Oscar as one of his hands brushed against his wife’s side.
“Are you sure you can handle me?” say Rose playfully
“Are you sure you can handle me?” countered Oscar with a smile and a slight roar which caused the hair on her back to stand on end, not out of fear but excitement.
“Your on-lion boy.” confirmed Rose
