Arriving at the convention center on Thursday the next week, Ken, with the help of his powers, made sure that he, his brother Tyler and Tyler’s six friends: Arthur, Hikaru, Max, Jay, James and Lars all occupy the same room, by making it larger.
The little anthros are all wearing baggy cargo shorts and beneath them they are wearing boxer briefs, other than that, the young anthros are naked.
“Alright boy, here we are,” Ken says, “let’s unpack, and once I’ve changed into my costume, we’ll head to the convention and see if anything is already happening”.
They all nod, “sounds good, Ken,” they say.
“We’re super excited,” Tyler says, his fox tail wagging excitedly, as do all the others, except for Jay, since he’s a bird, “we never saw you in your costume before!”
Ken grins, “oh, I think you’ll love it,” he says, taking the bag which has the “costume” stored in and heads into the bathroom, “I’ll be back in a few minutes”.
The boys eyes widen and their mouths open in surprise when Ken reappears a few minutes later, now wearing his “costume” of his persona “Selena”, over which he had put a pink t-shirt and a blue skinny denim jeans.
“Well,” Ken says, his voice sounding just like a young female’s, thanks to the built-in voice distorter, “what do you boys think?”
“K-Ken… is that really you,” Tyler asks.
Ken chuckles, “of course it is, silly,” the “lizard-lady” says.
“Whoa… you look like a real female lizard,” all the boys say.
“Cool, right,” Ken asks, “I’m super happy with my costume”.
“Looks expensive,” Tyler says.
“Yeah, it was,” Ken lies, “but it’s worth every penny!”
All of the boys grin, “now that we are all ready: LET’S GO!”
Ken chuckles, “I understand your excitement, after all, this is your first convention,” he says, “if you need any help, I’ll be happy to explain everything to you”.
“We’ll manage,” Tyler says.
“I hope there are other kids here too,” Max says, “I haven’t seen any though”.
Ken turns to Max, “there will be a few kids,” he says, “some spend the night here, but the majority of them head back home and return the next day”.
“Ah, okay,” the boys says as they follow Ken down the hall.
“One important thing,” Ken says, “furries usually do not talk, at least most of them don’t, because they do not want to ruin the illusion of being an animal. Just so you know: if no one talks wit you, they do not mean it in a mean way”.
The boys nod, “understood,” they say, “anything else we’d need to know?”
Ken nods, “most of the furries love doing role plays,” he says, “some pretend to be babies, some pretend to be pets, others tend to play stories based in a fantasy-scenery, medieval-scenery, or any scenery they think of”.
“Sounds like a lot of fun,” the boys say.
Tyler looks up at his brother, “thanks for bringing us,” he says, “I’ve always wanted to join you”.
“I know,” Ken says, patting Tyler’s head, “but I wanted to wait until you were older, and I think 12 is old enough. You are a smart fox-boy and you are mentally mature enough to make your own decisions”.
Tyler nods, “yup, and I vow for my friends, they all are just as mature as I am,” he says, turning to his friends, “right, boys?”
The others nod, “ya! We’d never do anything that feels to weird to us,” they says.
Ken smiles under his mask, “good,” he says, “you guys do not have to hang around me all the time, you can go ahead and explore by yourself. If you need me: Tyler has my number, I wouldn’t mind him given it to you others, that way you can always call me”.
The boys eyes light up, “gee, thanks Ken,” they say, “we promise, we’ll behave!”
“I know you will,” Ken says, “but I suggest, for at least today, you stick with me, just to get used to the convention, then tomorrow you can start doing your own stuff”.
“Alright, sounds like a deal,” the boys say.
Over the course of the rest of the day, Ken shows the boys around the convention center, explaining everything and answering any questions the best he can. They visit a few events, like the puppet show, which the boys enjoyed, the auction room where they could check out items which would be auctioned off and place their bets, the gaming room where the boys could have some fun playing video games and later in the day they went to the disco and just had an amazing time. They all are approached by other furs, telling them how cool their suits were, how realistic they appeared, unaware that, except for Ken, the boys are not wearing suits.
After having some dinner, they all returned to their shared room and got ready for bed, after a shower, Ken sits down on his bed, the boys themselves are just chilling on their own beds, naked.
“Man, feels so good to finally get out of those pants and boxers,” Tyler says.
“Yeah,” the others say.
“So, what do you boys think so far?”
“It’s amazing,” they all say, “we can’t wait to see what will happen tomorrow”.
Ken smiles, “I’m glad you enjoyed the first half day,” he says, “tomorrow you’ll defiantly have a lot to do and see. And remember, if you need me, just call me, besides that, we’ll meet up at 1pm for lunch and 6pm for dinner, and you’ll be in this room by 8pm”.
The boys nod, “you can trust us to at least TRY and show up,” they giggle.
Ken chuckles, “I won’t be mad,” he says, “if you don’t show up then I’ll just call you. I know how easy it is to lose track of time on an event like this”.
The boys smile, “well, better get some sleep so we’ll be energized for tomorrow!”
Ken chuckles, “yeah, sleep well, boys,” he says.
“You too, Ken,” they all say, “and… thanks again!”
