Now Ty knew that June was in two (or perhaps more) fractal pieces, and that his power couldn't just put them back together, in the same way that his power hadn't been able to reassemble Lisa from her four billion pieces. Although it wasn't _exactly_ the same problem he'd had with Lisa, might the same solution work? He hoped so, because he didn't have any other ideas.
He knew he couldn't reassemble June using his power, but he hoped that he could at least separate her fractal pieces from the washer and dryer, and transfer them into some other container. That would be necessary if he was to have any chance of fixing her.
He thought about the high-capacity USB SSD in his desk drawer, which still contained the four billion Lisa fragments which she'd been reassembled from. This was interesting in that he effectively had a "backup copy" of Lisa, and that should it become necessary, he could reconstitute her from that. Of course, if he did tbat, she wouldn't have her subsequent memories. And would she be the same person? That was too deep a philosophical question for him to consider now. He should talk it over with Lisa later, as well as finding out whether she minded that he still had a copy of those pieces. Maybe she would want them deleted.
But he shouldn't worry about Lisa right now. His top priority had to be fixing June, and unfortunately he couldn't do it at his leisure here in the influence of the special clock. He would have to return to real time.
Ty turned the knob on the alarm clock back to normal, and the seconds resumed counting. He had perhaps fifteen minutes, give or take, before Mark would arrive home.
Ty teleported the SSD from his desk drawer into his hand. He concentrated on transferring the June pieces out of the laundry machines into files on the SSD. He inspected the machines with his mental metaphor scanner. The transfer must have worked, because the laundry machines now were apparently 100% machine and 0% June. Relieved by that, he picked up the laundry basket of June's clothing, and teleported to JSF1.
