Before long, Mark knocked at Ty's door again. "Come on in," Ty said. Mark and June walked in, and Mark closed the door behind them. June's eyes widened at the sight of the new conference table, but she didn't say anything about it, as she and Mark sat, joining Ty. "Mark said you wanted to talk to me?" June asked him. "Is everything OK?"

"Sure, Mom," Ty replied. "Everything is fine. Mark came to me earlier with a request, and I think you'll like it."

Mark told June, "I didn't want to get your hopes up until I spoke to Ty." June was definitely intrigued now.

"Mark surprised the heck out of me, with a request that I change you," Ty explained. "Of course, I wouldn't do that without your permission, but we're both pretty sure you'll want this."

"June," Mark said, "I asked Ty if he'd give you back your ability to merge the laundry machines into your human form."

June was flabbergasted. "But Ty took that away... for my own good," she said, not daring to actually believe she'd back get the ability she craved so much.

"June, I told you that I wasn't happy taking away your ability, even though I felt that I had to," Ty said. "But Mark has convinced me that it's safe to give you that ability back, if you'll agree to two conditions".

"Oh, yes," June said. "I'll agree to anything!"

"Not so fast," Ty said. "We need to be certain that you understand the conditions, and take them seriously."

June nodded. "Of course," she said. "Just tell me what they are."

"There are two things you need to agree to," said Ty. "One: you will only merge one or both machines into your human form when Mark is with you, and has agreed to support you while you're merged.

"Two: If either Mark or I ask you to unmerge the machines from yourself, to return to normal human form, you will do it immediately, no matter how much pleasure you're getting."

"Oh, yes, absolutely," said June. "I agree to both of those conditions. I do have a suggestion, though."

Ty had expected that she might not like or agree to the conditions, but was happy that she was willing.

"What's your suggestion, June?" Mark asked.

June said, "I agree with both conditions, with no reservations. But that's easy for me now. And while I'm merged in the future, I'm going to try to control myself better than I did this afternoon. But if I am so stimulated that I'm not thinking straight, I worry that I might not honor the second condition, might not unmerge when asked. So if you both approve, Ty, I want you to give Mark the ability to unmerge the machines from me. I'm sure you can already do that."

Ty said, "That sounds like a good idea to me. Mark?"

"I'm fine with that. I hope not to need it, but it would feel good to have that ability in reserve, if things go south."

Ty told June, "There are two more things for you to be aware of. Mark and I are OK with you becoming one of the machines, in machine form, when you want to. We're sure you will use that ability responsibly, so you can do that when Mark isn't with you. The conditions we've discussed are only for having the machines merged into your human form.

"What I'm specifically going to withhold from your abilities," Ty said...

June winced. It had seemed too good to be true. She had been afraid that there would be some kind of catch.

"... is that when you have merged both machines into your human form, you won't be able to change yourself into machine form. You'll have to unmerge one machine first, to do that."

June breathed a sigh of relief. "That's fine, Ty. I don't ever want to do that again. I know that caused us a great deal of trouble today, and even if it didn't, it's just not that big a thing to me. If I'd been thinking straight, I wouldn't even have attempted that. So yes, by all means, don't give me the ability to repeat _that_ mistake."

Mark said, "June, do you agree to what we've discussed?"

"Oh, yes, Mark! I agree! Thank you! And thank you too, Ty!" June had a huge smile. She wss almost glowing.
