The man chanted something in a language you didn't understand. The twinkling of the stars and the silvery sheen of the full moon shone down upon you and your fellow captive while glistening from the strange man's sacred jewels. But there was nothing of light to be found on his mysterious robes, which were as black as jade on this cool autumn night.
His voice reached a crescendo at what appeared to be some kind of climax to his incomprehensible chanting. The fire flared up toward the sky as if to punctuate his speech. When he finally stopped chanting, he took of his jeweled amulet and held it out toward the flames. A bright light burst out, blinding you for a second. When you could see again, your robed captor had been thrown back against a nearby tree. He appeared to be unconscious. Two wispy ghost-like figures flew out of the dancing fire and leapt toward the sky. One was glowing red. The other was glowing gray like the moonlight itself. As the red one chased the gray one overhead and circles back around toward the earth, it became clear that gray form was shaped like a rabbit, while the red looked more like some kind of fox.
The glowing apparitions raced along the forest floor, hovering just above the grown, racing toward where you and the other man were tied up. The rabbit darted into his body and vanished, causing a strange gray mist to glow around him. Whatever was happening, it caused the ropes around his wrists and ankles to slide off, but he didn't look like he was able to move very much. His body tensed and writhed. A glowing blue human shape flew out of him and appeared to be sucked right into a fire, where a faint and distant-sounding scream could be heard. Almost immediately, you felt something powerful and hungry enter you from behind, and you saw a red mist form around you. Some other unknown force drained out of you, a glowing blue human-shaped apparition appeared before you, reached out for your body, and was quickly pulled back toward the crackling flames. Your restraints fell off like the other man's had, and now you too were free, but you couldn't do much but roll over onto your hands and knees coughing.
"What's -- happening --" the man who had been kidnapped with you managed to choke out. Then you saw his ears begin to glow brighter with the strange gray energy that had entered him. He quickly grabbed them, but the gray glow began to spill out between his fingers. Then you gasped when what felt like a lightning bolt struck your tailbone. Something was throbbing and swelling back there, and soon your pants were uncomfortable, and then then they were painfully tight in the back. Something strangely soft and fluffy--but increasingly large--was getting pressed between them and your ass.
The other man's hands were no longer large enough to cover the wide, tall growths they were holding. The pointed, oblong flesh on either side of his head were stretching wider, growing taller. Were those his ears? Whatever they were, the gray glow around them was starting to dim a bit, while gray fur sprouted out of them under the moonlight.
You've barely moved since you were freed. You would like to get up and run out of here. But whatever energy you still have in you is almost totally focused on filling your pants with something you can't understand. When you finally lift yourself enough to get your hands off the ground, it's undo your belt. "I'm sorry, I can't --- I've got --- get these off--" you mutter. Preserving your modesty has taken a backseat to relieving the awful pressure. You sigh in relief as soon as you have undressed your lower half. But though you don't feel the constriction of the suddenly-too-small garments now, you get a strange new sense of movement from behind you. Some part of you is waving, glad to be free, but your feet are still solidly on the forest floor. Now the thing is curling around toward your front, and a faint red glow is appearing beside you. You look over and see something red and bushy, peppered with black hairs, and ending in a white puff. It's getting longer.
"What ... what ... ?"
You can't complete your sentence, but you do reach over and grab it, shivering at once from the jolt of new sensation up your spine. Pulling it around you, it grows a few last inches before the glowing red magic mostly fades from it. Examining it you can't escape the conclusion it's a fox tail. But when you stare at its white tip, silently commanding it to do something, it wiggles as if to prove itself to you, and stops when you are satisfied, assuring you that every inch of this is yours now. When you look again at the other man, you see him running his hands up and and down two long gray ears that are obviously a rabbit's. You both look over to the still, cloaked figure slumped beside the tree, and you figure out part of what he's doing. He's cast out your humanity and started turning you into forest animals. But neither of you can fathom why.
