Lisa and Dustin had no idea where Ty was. Lisa said, "Maybe he's still in his laptop, or back from wherever, but for some reason can't transform back."
"I doubt it," Dustin said. "He said that he would 'be back'. He went somewhere, and if he was back, we'd see him."
"I don't think it is likely that he's in his computer," Lisa said, "but the alternative, Ty being somewhere... out there, is much worse. Because if he is here, I have the power to transform him back to normal. I'm going to try, just in case he's actually here."
Lisa tried, several times, but noting happened.
"Oh, Dustin, what if something bad has happened to him? What if we've lost him?" Lisa said, anguished.
"Surely not," Dustin said. "With the the power he has, how could anything bad happen to him?" But the tone of Dustin's voice didn't seem as confident as his words.
"Despite his powers, he still has some human limitations," Lisa said. "Someone could outsmart him, or something could happen too quickly for him to react."
Lisa considered turning the special knob Ty had added to her alarm clock. That would give Dustin and her as much time as they wanted, but to do what? There didn't seem to be anything they could do, other than worry. And if Ty was coming back, that would just make them have to wait longer before his return. The special alarm clock had been useful for other problems, but it was no help now.
A few more minutes passed, and a new window popped up on Ty's computer. Lisa and Dustin's immediate hope that Ty was back was dashed quickly. There was no Ty avatar. The window was titled "Ty Rescue Plan", and contained only text, and one button.
