Mary wanted to keep trying more vials. She disregarded the cow vial, as she already had an udder to deal with. She thought hopefully that whatever animal she tried next would let her retain it. As she skimmed through the labels, she thought of what animal caught her fancy. She couldn't come up with something specific, but thought perhaps since she was already part cow, she should stick with a farm animal theme. She closed her eyes and pulled a vial at random from the group.
A picture of a poodle. Not really farm material. She tried again and got a vulture. Yikes. The third time proved the charm as she successfully grabbed for a vial with a picture of a pig.
Pigs didn't appeal to Mary very intensely, but as long as she didn't have to turn into a mouse or disgusting bug, she was fine with it. A few generous sips of the vial's liquid poured down her throat. It tasted like watery mud, and felt like it too.
She stoppered the vial and replaced it in the box, watching with interest as it magically refilled the tiny portion she drank. Then she stood still and waited for the first sign of changes.
