Amy decided to stay at Lina's for a few hours and do homework, as Lina had suggested. The evening turned less and less into a study session as Lina kept playing with Amy's gray and black striped hair and suggesting other ways to accent her cat features.
"We could get a big bow and bell and tie them to your tail," she chimed while braiding up Amy's hair so that each plait was either solid gray or black.
Amy, too, was more interested in her own body than the math equations in front of her. She stroked one of her arms as she pondered how she could get x to equal 3/25ths...then wondered if she had even got that number right in the first place. Sighing, she leaned back in the chair and stretched her arms wide. "I can't think straight," she admitted. "Maybe I should have changed back. I keep getting feelings from my fur and whiskers and ears, and it's all so new I'm not used to any of it."
"Okay, so we'll put away the homework for a little while and have some fun," Lina smiled.
"Maybe we should try a few more questions. Plus I've got a history quiz tomorrow."
"I have a ball of yarn," Lina said, holding up the rolled string. She dangled the end of it in the air and Amy felt her tail batting the air unconsciously. Her blue, cat-like eyes followed the string back and forth, back and forth.
Lina tossed the ball across the room and Amy sprang out of her chair, tackling the ball. Unfortunately, she also managed to knock over a small bookshelf next to Lina's closet. Magazines and hardcover texts dropped all around her. When Amy's head emerged from underneath the cover of "Romeo and Juliet," she was grinning. At Lina's shocked-yet-puzzled expression, one of Amy's hands raised itself out of the confused mess clutching the string.
"Meow!" Amy said triumphantly.
Lina nearly fell on the ground in laughter as the catgirl picked herself up out of the pile of books.

After they had put Lina's room back together, Amy decided to go home where there was less chance of distraction. She said goodnight to Lina at the front door, but Lina asked her to wait.
"I know I was really nervous before, but...umm...maybe," Lina said, flushing. Amy's ears perked up expectantly. "Maybe we could go back to that store tomorrow after school?"
Amy's fang-filled grin and bright eyes told Lina everything. "See you tomorrow!" she replied gleefully before bouncing down the dim sidewalk. Lina watched her tail wagging in the air and her paws effortlessly skipping off the cement, pondering how wonderful it would feel to have a body like that.
