As Lina's shouting rang in Amy's new sensitive ears, Amy's eyes drifted to the wall of jewelry shining in the light of the oil lamps above the aisle. She began to pick out several necklaces and twirl them in her clawed fingers.
"Are you even listening?" Lina said, exasperated. "You need to realize how serious this is! Your body is completely different! Doesn't this seem weird to you?"
"I like weird," Amy grunted as she put on five different bracelets and stared at their mesmerizing twinkle. Lina snatched the necklaces in her hand and put them back on their hooks.
"Take them off. Take them all off!" Lina demanded, reaching for the bracelets. Amy retaliated with a hiss and scratched Lina's arm. Blood began to flow slowly out of the cuts.
"Amy...!" Lina gasped, cradling the bleeding arm.
Amy blinked, snapping out of her instinctual mode. "Ohmigod Lina! I'm so sorry! I did it without thinking!"
"It's fine," Lina stammered, looking determinedly at the floor. "Let's just...go. Please."
Amy's throat emitted a meek, pained yowl as she started to remove the bracelets one by one.
