After breakfast, she went to work, almost forgetting entirely about the vial she drank. Nothing felt out of the ordinary, nothing felt out of place, so she paid it no mind.
Soon enough, her lunch break came, and as usual, she went down to the lobby of the building she worked at and to the adjoining mall where as usual, she meets her boyfriend Alan for lunch at the TGIFriday's.
"Hey babe," he greets her, sitting down opposite her at their regular small table.
"Hey yourself. How was your day so far?" She answers, suddenly feeling much hungrier than she was before.
"S'alright. Delivered a few packages, drove the truck around... nothing spectacular."
The waiter arrives, and looks to them both.
"The usual?" He asks with a smirk on his face.
"You know..." Mary says, with a slight smirk on her face. "I wanna steak. Medium rare. No side items. Glass of water."
Alan and the waiter look at her in shock.
"What?" She asks. "I'm hungry."
"O... okay...." Alan gives her a skeptical look before turning his attention to the waiter. "Usual for me. Raspberry tea."
The waiter jots it all down and heads back to the kitchen area.
"Mary... steak?"
"What?"
"You hate steak."
"I want a steak! So what?"
"Whatever. Did you... did you dye your hair?"
"Huh? No. What are you..."
"Your hair's looking kinda orange..."
