"What's...going on?" asked what looked like her identicle twin.
"The masquerade has split the infinite," said Rain.
"And all the infinite sees is a copy of insignificance. Oh, God, I don't know what's happening. Why is my voice like this? Why do I feel so odd? Why do I...why are my thoughts coming to my brain in such weird sentences?" she sobbed.
"I...I'm sorry. I'd better explain, but, for the sake of ease, and getting you used to it, let me call you Luna," said Rain.
"What?" asked Luna, understandably petrified.
So Rain started to divulge her story, appreciating with every word she spoke how ridiculous it must all sound to someone new, and to Luna's credit, though perhaps because her mind was similarly altered to primarily display a shrewd apathy, she listened, and she nodded, and she seemed to accept every word that she was told. Even so, the makeup adorning her eyes had run, only adding to her gothic credentials.
Despite herself, Rain found this whole scene somewhat alluring. The way in which she had felt herself become attached to this girl as she explained the Chronivac and the accident was too impossibly erotic to ignore. Once more she damned herself for making herself so horny.
"Can I...please have a hug before I look at myself in the mirror?" asked Luna.
"You don't need a mirror. You can just look at me," said Rain.
"I know, but the mirror is the window that pierces the closest; the one that cannot lie, but connects us with our eternal perishing soul," said Luna.
Rain shuffled her feet nervously. The introduction of Luna was making her feel uncharacteristic, but she supposed that it was hard to feel completely full of bleak prose and pretention, and horny at the same time. Luna extended her arms, and slowly, very slowly, Rain walked over to her and hugged her, her body feeling for the first time since she had created it the warmth of another human body. It made her spine tingle and her chest hum with excitement. She felt the heaving hue of Luna rising and falling against her, which was almost excruciatingly too much. She wondered if Luna was forced to be having similar feelings because of the transformation.
An eternity later, the hug broke off, and Luna sighed with determination, before going and facing herself in the bathroom mirror. She stared intently at herself for almost five minutes, and said;
"Luna. Luna Blackfeather."
"You're taking this well," said Rain.
"Yes, I know. I think it must be the Chronivac's doing. I presume you took to it well?" asked Luna.
"I wanted this," said Rain.
"Still," said Luna.
"We have to get it fixed," said Rain.
"So we have a mission of a sort?" asked Luna.
"It seems so," said Rain.
"Well. We should go, then. There is no time but each sand in the ocean of time to waste. Let us escape to where the black hole of humanity lies, and weather it," said Luna.
She stepped back from the mirror and winked at Rain, provoking her heartbeat to speed up once more. Her breath shortened, and she felt a stirring within herself. Her brain was trying to decipher how natural this all must be, but the Chronivac was not a device of nature. She was looking at her sexual fantasy, as her sexual fantasy. She was reeling.
"Shall we go?" asked Rain, composing herself.
