Things to John, everyone inside the mansion probaly knows you're here. Plus, even if they didn't hear an entire wall get knocked down, if someone walks by it, or there are security cameras, it'll be hard to miss.
You start to run down the hall, dropping to all fours, except then you realize you have the small problem that you would leave John behind. Though that has some benifits to it, it would probaly be best to stick togethor. You continue down the various hallways in the mansion, making turns at random, now going slower so that John can keep up. As you run, you pull out the Book of Beast, so you don't get caught unarmed by whoever owns this mansion.
You turn another corner, and then skid to a hault. Standing at the other end of the hallway, are two guards dressed in black uniforms with black sun glasses.
For a moment, you wonder where the heck it is that this guy gets all these black suits for his henchmen. However, you have other things to worry about.
The guards, seeing you, quickly reach for their guns, and you open the book, pointing at each of them.
"Shape!" You shout, and in a cloud of smoke, both guards vanish, and our replaced by very confused lemurs.
John at this point catches up again. "Can I ask you something?"
"Erm ok." You respond, as the lemurs run off.
"Why lemurs?"
"It was the first animal that came to my mind!"
The two of you continue down the passages turning at random, though, still getting nowhere fast.
"This is taking forever." John moans.
"Do you have a better idea!?"
"Well actually.... If we assume that whoever owns this place, is close to the center of the mansion...."
"You wouldn't dare." You realize what he is saying.
"Here we go!" He turns to a wall, and continues, straight through the wall, knocking it down, and knocking down the wall after that one, and the wall after that, and the wall after that.
You want to yell at him, but the sad thing is, his idea is the best option you have right now.
You follow John, as quick as you can (which is pretty fast at this point) without overtaking him, as he continues through the walls. You pass bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges, and parlours, but haven't really seen anyone else here. Then, suddenly, John bust through another wall, and the two of you enter a dark room.
The room's floor is black, and the walls are white. There are pillars around the room. It almost looks like some type of temple scene from a fantasy story or a video game.
At the other end of the room, one man stands, holding a red book.
"Ah so you arrived." The man speaks, turning around. He is dressed in, what appears to be a red dress or a robe. He has long black hair, blue eyes. And were it not for the moustache, you might confuse him for a girl.
"I'm sorry.... But..." You know you shouldn't, but you ask anyways. "Are you wearing a dress?"
". . . . It's standard apparently for an archmage, at least in the world these books come from, but... You know what, shut up!"
"But..."
"Just shut up and let me make my long villanous monologue."
"Sheesh alright." You quiet.
"Anyways. I see you were skilled enough to make it passed the guards, and get into this room..."
"Guards?" You turn around, and look at the wall you came in through. Buried beneath the chunk of the wall knocked out, appear to be two people, in the usual black suits, holding guns. "Wow, I didn't even see them on the way in."
"Whatever." The man speaks. "However, it is sad. You've come all this way just to fail."
"Don't be so sure!" John speaks up. "It's two against one!"
"Don't be so silly." The man speaks. "I am not the one who orchestrated this plan, I am not the one with the Book of Mind. You see, he currently watching us all. Which means, he can see you, and hit you with his own spells, but is safe from any counter attack. My job is just to stall you, and make you aware of your current situation."
"And what's that supposed to mean?" You ask.
"The book I have is the Book of Transmutation. With it, I can give you a fate worst than death. To be trapped, as an inanimate object, but with no ability to move or do anything yourself, and live for eternity stuck in that form. Of course, that's just my power. The msater, on the other hand, can destroy your mind if he wishes it, or even manipulate you to an extent. The point is, if you make any hostile moves, you die, or worst. However, I really don't want to fight you, and a battle is not needed here. My master just wishes to harness the power released when all seven books are in one place."
"What?" You have a strange sinking feeling.
"This was all set up. We figured rather than walk into an obvious trap, you would come here instead if we provided the information. And with you, came the Book of Time, Beast, and even now Body. WIth my master, we already have the Book of Transmutation, and Mind. Then, the books of Arcane, and Myth. Well, you are not the only one to recieve our invitation. In fact, she should be here relatively soon."
"You mean!?"
"That's right. Within the hour, when your girlfriend arrives, all seven books will be united, and their true power will be released. And my master will harness that power. There is no longer a place for you in his new empire, however, if you don't resist at all, you can survive, and remain in any form you choose. Heck, after he has the true power, he may even let you keep your weaker books."
"Erm, she's not my girlfriend. I mean she's hot and I wish she was."
"Will you just shut up and wait! How is an evil villain supposed to act on his plan if he can't get the idiot hero to shut his trap for five minutes."
"Alright alright."
Time is ticking. Ruby will probaly be here soon with the last two books. You're not sure what power this guy is talking about, but it doesn't sound good. If you could cast a spell, then you might be able to take this guy out, but there's still his 'master' to worry about. Still with the right spell, you may be able to get all seven books tonight. However, you'll have to choose your timing and spell carefully.
