"Lets stick togethor. If we split up it'll be to easy for him to catch us off guard. There's only one of him left, at least he only has one book left, so we can probaly take him out easily."
"So your a tactical genius now?" Susan replies sarcastically."
"Hey give the guty a break, he did just save you." John points out.
"He didn't save me. He merely got in the way of me taking care of the problem myself."
She really is stuck up.
"Whatever." You reply. "Lets just get going."
So the three of you set off to explore the mansion, which really isn't that difficult. After all, it's a house someone lives in, not a maze.
Eventually, you wind up on the second floor without encountering any trouble.
"You know." You begin. "This guy strikes me as an extreme egomaniac. He's probaly waiting for us right now in some office and even has a speach prepared."
You open a door, and sure enough it leads into a large office. However, there is no egomaniac ranting a speach, just a dead body on the floor, and a book right next to him.
"Or maybe he killed himself due to being incapable of dealing with this?" John oggers hopefully.
"Heh heh heh."
"Great." Ruby moans. "Annoying laughter from the shadow."
A man steps out from behind a bookshelf, and picks up the Book of Mind on the floor. There's something about him that you find very strange. It could be the fact he's wearing a brown cloack that covers most of his body, or the fact that his hair is white, or maybe that his ears are pointed.
"The heck?" You mutter.
"Ah, you are no doubt, wondering who I am, or what I am?"
"Not really." Ruby shoots in. "But you're probaly going to tell us anyways."
"Hmph." The pointy earmed man continues. "My name is Raxi. As you have probaly guessed by now, I am not, exactly human, I am an elf from the other world, the same these books came from. I brought the books into this world, for my own reasons. However, there was an accident, and they were scattered. I was able to only find one of them, in the possession of another man. So, I used him to bring all the books to one place. Now that he has accomplished that, I no longer need him."
"So you used him and killed him." You replied. "However, we can still take you. We have six of the books between us against your one."
"Normally." Raxi starts. "That would be a disadvantage on my part. However, the three of you are inexperienced with magic, and have no powers besides the books. If those books had landed in mroe capable hands, my plan might have been undone. As it is, I have both my own supply of magic and a book to back me up, plus years of experience. You are not nearly powerful enough to fight me in your current state, so a battle would be pointless on your part. However, I myself do not wish for a fight, as I will need my energy for when the books combine. So I offer you a deal. Let the books unlock the final spells in each of them, and when I cast the spell I wish, you can keep your books, and we can go our seperate ways."
"So let me get this straight." You reply. "We just let you cast some all powerful spell, and everyone goes home happy."
"Yes, except the spell isn't all powerful." Raxi speaks.
"Well then....."
