Dan put his hand down the back of his pants and pulled out something short and furry. Twisting his head over his shoulder, he could see he was holding what looked like a lion's tail. It was the same blondey-brown colour of his hair, and he found he could move it without his hands.
"Whoa..." He knew it was wierd, but still... he was going to be a lion! This spell had backfired on Kat bigtime.
He realised, though, that if Kat found out that his inner animal was a lion, she might somehow cancel the spell, so he realised he had to hide this from her. He moved his tail back into his boxers and taped it down with duct tape.
The door of his bedroom opened. Kat came in.
"Hey there Danny", she said, hands behind her back. "I brought you a present!"
She revealed a cookbook from behind her back, and tossed it over onto Dan's bed. He clambered over to it and read the title.
"The Joy of Pork." Dan looked up and threw the book at her.
"Calm it, Dan!" She laughed. "So, any changes yet?"
"Nope." He kept a blank face.
"Okay. Well, dinner will be ready soon, might be the last time your digestive system will take meat!" She slammed the door and went downstairs.
Dan knew he had to keep this secret.
