Dan couldn’t believe his eyes. He had just been out for less than a minute and already Lisa’s pack had brought down Sharon, which he put a lot of effort in placing her. He cursed to himself as he brought up his desert eagle.
Lisa gave off a menacing growl and the pack scattered into the rows of benches. She leaped from her former position right when Dan fired. The bullet clangs against the metallic ladder as it is brought clashing down on top of several benches.
Dan quickly readjusted his aim as six targets started scouring around. One stops momentarily and he fires. This time the bullet pierces through wood bench and embeds itself into the floor. Anaya had darted out of the way.
Brenda jumped over on top of the bench giving Dan a clear shot. He shoots, this time firing twice. She acrobatically back flips over on top of another bench behind her as wood chips erupt from her previous stoop. The second shot zipped right underneath her in mid-flight, goes through the seat, ricochets off the stone floor, and narrowly misses Ebony hurrying nearby. Brenda quickly jumps down behind some cover.
The rising frustration in Dan was throwing off his aim. He realized that the werewolves were closing in the distance towards him, zigzagging under and between the benches and occasionally revealing themselves so the others can gain ground. He sporadically opens fire at anything that moved, walks backward, and fiddles in his pocket for the detonator.
Splinters spewed around with frightening regularity, some finding their ways in the skin of the coven sisters which they ignored. Debra had to change course several times to prevent her movements from being predicted.
Solange, carrying the unconscious Sharon, abruptly stopped as rounds were sent in front of her. Seizing this opportunity, Dan aims his last round at the pair.
Suddenly, someone grabs hold of his shoulder and twisted him around. He fires his final shot wildly into the air as he is brought face to face with an old friend.
“Miss me?” Wendy smirked. She punches Dan’s puzzled face. The cylindrical detonator in his pocket falls out. He takes a step backwards staring at Wendy.
Dan was taken back at the sight, she was alive. That became all too apparent for him as she kicks him in the chest sending him backwards into a bench, loosing his grip on the gun on impact.
“It can’t be… your dead!” he hoarse while picking himself up.
Wendy shrugged. “I don’t know about you, but you might want to worry about yourself.”
Dan barely caught sight of a fiery werewolf charging toward him. Lisa brutally slams into Dan launching him into a column. There was a loud crack, and his body slumped onto the ground.
Wendy walked toward Lisa. “Is Sharon okay?” she asked worryingly. Lisa looks over at Solange who checks on Sharon. A moment passes and Solange looked up with a smile and nodded.

Outside,
Vix had just caught sight of the cathedral as she peered around a tree. She was in awe of the building that was located in the middle of the woods. Vix now knew why Dan chose this place as his base. It was a site where he can trap everyone inside the structure. With all the explosives he had, it would be an easy task leaving Sharon while he wait for their arrival. Then right when they were going to rescue her, boom. Most likely, he would have been staying at a safe area to spy on until then.
“Well that’s one mystery solved,” she uttered to herself. There was a glint of light that attracted Vix’s attention. It was a small metallic object on the dirt road. Look out further from her hiding spot, she inspects the area. Seeing that no one was out there, she raced out, picked up the object in one swoop, and continued across until she reached behind another tree on the opposite side of the trail. She examines the cylindrical object closer.
“A detonator!” Vix gasped. She couldn’t believe how irresponsible Dan was in losing the major tool for his trap. “Unless, they’re already inside,” Vix thought. What she had before her could end all of her troubles. She uncaps the safeguard on the detonator.
“Wait,” she whispers to herself. With her free hand, she takes out a PDA she used to track Wendy. Magnifying the small map on the screen, she saw what she dreaded the most. Wendy was in the building as well.
She had hoped that Wendy would be somewhere else. Life, once again, had dealt Vix an unfair decision. To kill Dan and the entire pack at the price of losing Wendy or to do nothing, saving Wendy’s life at the price of letting lycanthropy spread. Vix was overwhelmed with either notion. To betray Wendy or to forsake everything she worked toward ending lycanthropy. For life or for death, for love or for hate, for friendship or for vengeance…
Vix was torn in despair. She closed her eyes, and made the most difficult decision in her life. Her thumb hovered over the trigger.
