Caherine and I walk threw the park area nearest to the lakeside. The buildings remind me of trips to the French quater. As we walk the area turns more like a slum and we both feel that this excursion in going no where. Cathy is a pretty a wife as any man could have, yet she has a temper a mile wide.
In the dank alley is a neon sign, Madam Ojo DeGore, herbs and desires! I suggest this is of some interest and pull Cathy along and we enter the shop.
A tinkle of a small bell anounces' our entry. The shop seems to be deep and narrow. Long but tight isles with all kinds of glass jars and bunches of herbs hang fro ropes. The place is dark but neat and very clean.
"Can I be of service, Sir, came from one dark corner."
I'm sure my mouth was open as Cathy punched me in the ribbs. In the dull light stood a fine looking form of a very french woman. Sleek and slender yet full where a man would expect. Walking toward us she moved with such grace and a sensual walk, I knew something was getting stiff.
"I am Madam Ojo DeGore and this is my shop of acient herbs and person desires'. Please look around, ask if you want anything, but DON'T Touch or break anything, might might cost more than you think."
A fifty two year old is wise but in my case also a klutz. Cathy turned to me saying, "Lets get out of here!"
"No, I want to look this place is interesting." Cathy poked me again and this time I jumped.
Thud, Clank, Shatter, as a large jar of black powder fell and broke open on the floor. I stood in awe and saw the black powder pour all over my shoes and into my socks.
"You stupid fool I going back to the Hotel, I'll wait if she doesn't kill your sorry ass." Cathy then stormed out the door and out of sight.
"Oh my saints what have you done, that powder is very strong, and expensive, said and upset storekeeper."
I looked down at black stuff which by now was sifting into my socks and shoes. As I reached down my head went on spin cycle and I reached out a hand.
"Come Sir, you might feel different and need a place to lay down." As she helped me along and opening a door I sat on a long board shelf. I looked up as the room started to spin. The room was all board planks, painted flat black and one light bulb hung from the ceiling.
"Stay here, I'll check on you shortly, she said with a smirk."
I sat and untied my shoes as more black powder flew into the air. Coughing and not liking the smell of the stuff I continued of shake it out of my shoes.
