"Buy me a balloon, then we can drink." said Alexis.
"OK, sure!” said Jon as he led his girlfriend toward the balloon vendor.
Jon had heard the dark rumors about Pleasure Island being more than just an amusement park. He hadn’t put much credence in them when he’d heard them—after all, people getting turned into things was just something from fiction. Jon wasn’t worried at all, especially after he saw the throngs of teenagers having tons of fun.
The couple approached a large pushcart manned by a very sexy girl in form fitting red-and-white striped coveralls and a pork pie hat. She smiled broadly as the two drew near.
“Hi kids! See anything you like?” shouted the woman over the din of the midway, pointing at the dozens of balloons floating overhead. There were balloons of all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors.
Jon rolled his eyes. He hated being called “kid”--he was seventeen! Alexis really wanted a balloon though, so he got out his wallet and fished out some money.
“OK Lex…pick out a balloon…the sky’s the limit!” joked Jon.
