Alexis giggled and reached for the string of a black and white spotted balloon. “I want this one. Reminds me of the bedspread I had as a kid.” Alexis said as she tugged the rope. The woman who was handing them out smiled. The vendor loved when her guests were excited about the balloon they picked.
She gently untied the balloon from her cart and placed it in Alexis’s hand. She moved herself down close to Alexis’s ear and gently whispered, “enjoy.” The woman turned to her boyfriend, still smiling. “Oh no, everything here is free. Please, have a good evening.”
Alexis felt a shiver hearing the sultry voice, “thanks,” she mumbled as Jon led her away. She looked back to see the woman stare her down with a look she only saw in movies. She never got a feeling from a woman like that before now, but Jon barely noticed.
Jon was more concerned about getting to his beer stand. He was such a drinker.
