She entered in some information on the remote and then aimed it at Todd again.
"Carrie," Todd pleaded, but she pushed the button anyway.
Immediately, he felt himself rapidly shrinking. His clothes became thicker and baggier on him. He could feel a tingling on his skin, which he soon recognized to be fur growing on him. In moments, he was shorter than 4' tall and still shrinking. Even while he became smaller he could feel his waist expanding wider. He didn't know what he was turning into, but, whatever it was, it was something fat, short, and furry.
As he became shorter than Carrie's belly button, he noticed that his face was stretching out in front of him, like a wide snout that came to a point. Under his now tent-like shirt, his arms and legs began to feel shorter and stubbier on his tubby little body. He felt his fingernails turn into small claws as his hands became tiny paws.
Soon, he was shorter than knee high to her. At that point, he found he could no longer manage to stand upright. He toppled over, lost inside his own huge shirt. He felt his ears brush against the fabric and noticed how large and rounded they had become and how they had moved to the top of his head. He felt whiskers on his face brushing against his massive shirt. He was completely covered in fur now.
Then, the changes stopped. He crawled out of his shirt on all fours, which felt strangely natural to him now.
A still naked Carrie, who was a giant compared to Todd, squatted down next to him.
"Aww," she cooed. "Aren't you the cutest thing ever?"
She reached down to pet him with a hand as big as he was now. Todd was embarrassed to admit it to himself, but he liked the feeling of her petting him gently.
"Well, Todd, how do you like being a hamster?"
Todd couldn't say. Literally, he couldn't say because hamsters can't speak. But, he couldn't say also because he was surprised to find how much he enjoyed being petted as a furry little creature. He didn't want to be a rodent, but so far, he didn't mind it all that much.
What next? he wondered.
