Mary went to her full-length mirror to get a better impression of what was happening to her. When she arrived, her skin was definitely a vivid, olive green, except for a patch under her chin which was turning a bright yellow. She didn't recognize the pattern.

She returned to her living room to wait, settling on the couch, and after a while, more changes stared to take place. Her tongue began flicking out, tasting hte air, and Mary became concerned that she was turning into a snake, though her changing skin felt more leathery than scaley, and her long tongue was yellow, and the fork in it was very deep. She wasn't sure what that meant.

Slowly, she began to realize that her clothing was growing tight. She was becoming both taller and slightly more muscular. Her limbs weren't fusing or diminishing in any way, but her hands and feet were changing to become more reptilian, with sharp, taloned claws and a digitigrade stance. Also, she noticed a very long, powerful tail growing out over her rump. By now, with her face pushing out into a flat, broad lizard maw, she wondered just what in the world she was becoming...
