You stand up and feel again the cool rough street beneath your bare rubbery rabbit foot. You stand for a moment, enjoying the sensation, and then set off back to your home.
Nothing happens on your way home, those odd creatures seem to have totally left you alone, for now anyway. Turning you walk down your street and look up at the clear sky then down the length of your road. Home and after lines each side. Some have fences, most do not, but all are well lit with porch and walkway lights and you feel safe again in familiar territory. The squeak of your deformed foot reminds you that you arent safe, but letting out a giant yawn you decide to deal with that in the morning. Walking up to your house you fumble briefly for your keys and then unlock the door, making sure to remain quiet.
Your room is on the ground level, but above you are two of your housemates who are definately asleep at this time of night. It was cheaper to share the house with some other guys than rent it yourself, and with them upstairs they could share the bathroom and leave the master suite all to you.
You flop on to your bed and nestle in to the covers thinking only for a moment about what happened to you tonight, eyes closed and breathing slowly. Soon you are asleep.
