You decide that you want to see where the tunnel leads. Probably not too bright on your part, but your curiosity has the best of you. You want to know what this place is, why it's here, why all of this is happening, and you get the sense that you'll find those answers in these maze-like depths.
You start by following that man ant. While you do, you eventually come across a few others like him (her?), then more, and more still, all of them coming from or going in a single point. Clearly, this must be the center! Your anticipation at learning what wonders await completely strips you of any cowardice you still feel, and you go straight for the center of this latex anthill.
What you find is a wondrous sight. The tunnels open up into an immense cavern, the ceiling far above your view. In the center lies what looks like an entire lake of that latex substantial, its surface a rippling rainbow of colors. Odd though it all may be, the sight is beyond beautiful. Unfortunately, it gets one hell of a lot uglier as one of those ant men drops from the ceiling, this one at least twice as big as the others and with a swollen almost spider-like rear. Where the others had completely ignored you, this one seems focused on nothing else, and it looks more than ready to tear you a new one. Congratulations, it looks like you've managed to upset their queen.
