Pulling your right leg back, you prepare to give that skunk the punt of your life. You breathe in, a rush of adrenaline shoots through you, and kick with every ounce of your being. The skunk isn't even trying to get out of the way and your victory is assured... except that it's suddenly not a skunk anymore.
In a flash, the creature's latex body fluctuates and stretches, its black flesh shooting out into the shape of a snake as it wraps around your leg. You try to shake it off, but it clings effortlessly to your leg and slithers up your body within seconds. You don't even get a chance to grab it before you feel its sharp fangs piercing your neck, followed by the unmistakable sensation of something being pumped into you there (no doubt the snake's venom). As soon as you've gotten past your shock at what just happened, you grab the thing and tear it from your neck, tossing it into the bushes before it's finished injecting you with... whatever it was injecting you with.
You wait a few seconds for it to try a second attack, but when it doesn't you calm down a bit. That's one problem solved, but what was it trying to do with your neck?
