I laughed and watched the little boys clompng around in grown-up shoes, then shrank the uniforms to fit. Another thought changed the miniature uniforms to halloween costumes. They looks so cute, all dressed up alike. I grinned, and picked out the homeliest boy there - a coarse-featured kid with wild strawberry blonde hair, big ears, freckles, and buck teeth. In another minute, all of the boys were his identical brothers. Sextupets times two!
"Freeze!" A harsh voice from behind startles me. I start to turn around to get alook at my next victim, but he has other ideas. "Stay faing the way you are. Make one move, and I will blow your head off!"
Uh-oh. I search the store windows with my eyes, and use my power to make one into a mirror. A squad of soldiers is behind me, rifles aimed at my head. They look like special forces, the kind of rough, tough fighter who gets sent in for guerilla fighting.
"Yes, Sir!" I smile as I see the leader lower his rifle a bit. They think I am giving in. Using the mirror, I turn all of their weapons into bananas. Then I spin around and grin at the startled soldiers. "Guerilla tactics? I think you would do better as gorillas!"
I send them all back in time, not to their own past like I did the policement, but to human past. They shouted as they grew thicker and hairier, becoming cavemen, then Neanderthols, then large shaggy apes that no longer remembered being human at all. They began shrieking and running around, looking for a jungle.
