“Jess,” Josh calls to his friend, but Jesse is to involved in the spectacle the two teens are making in the alley. “JESSE,” Josh yells. Jesse turns around startled. “I think we should go before the ferry leaves. He pulls on Jesses shirt to hinting at the gates. “Listen Josh,” Jesse says, putting his arm around him and holding his cigar with the other, “look where we are. There’s no one around to tell us what to do. Don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t have vast amounts of unprotected sex.” Josh just shakes his head. “Okay, how about we start of slow?” Jesse says, putting on his negotiation face, “and we head down the boardwalk and see what we see.” Josh just sighs, “alright.” Jesse shoves the cigar back into his mouth in victory and the two walk down the main strip.
On either side are several clubs and bars. A pool hall, a pool, roller coasters, everything. The two watch the groups of young boys and girls laugh and drink. Then they come to a game booth. It’s the old squirt the water into the clown’s mouth game with only a small group of people playing. “How about this, see? Nothing sinister here,” Jesse laughs taking one of the seats.
