You lie on the floor for quite somer time, in a light haze, unable to move due to the tranquilizers, your thoughts preoccupied with the question of what to do about the old man. You're sure you'll be up and about long before he is; if the tranquilizer you slammed into his shoulder would keep a Velociraptor out for fourteen hours, and his body mass is around three times that of a Velociraptor, he should be out for four-plus hours, right? You're no anesthesiologist, but you're pretty sure that's how it works. You, on the other hand, are already regaining a little motion and feeling in your extremities; that's good, as the sensation of a full-body Novocaining is not an agreeable one.
So you're going to wake up before him, you're sure of that, but what then? You're sure that you won't be able to change back without his help; he might have a formula that could change you back, but he certainly wouldn't just leave it lying around. You'll have to coax it out of him...suddenly, you remember that the syringe that was used on you is still half-full. That'll do, for starters - you can threaten to use it on him if he doesn't comply, or if you think he's tricking you. Odds are he'd rather help you change back than become a Velociraptor girl himself.
About an hour later, you're fully mobile again. After a good stretch to limber up your sedated muscles, you grab the old man and drag him into the holding pen next to the one the female Velociraptor is in. You're beginning to have your doubts about whether she really was created from a large bird, but you won't know until you get into his computer and check any records he left, which you won't be able to do until you get his password from him. Until then, you seat yourself on a needle-free folding chair and settle in, waiting for him to wake up.
