April watched as though possessed by some unseen force to see the changes through.
Her scales grew darker, a deep evergreen shade, as they hardened over her body. Her stomach scales became ribbed and stayed soft, or at least softer than the rest of her.
Her eyes changed from their normal blue to a golden yellow. Amazingly, her dark hair remained, though it grew down her lengthening neck a ways to make it look more like a mane of sorts. Her tail grew long and thick behind her wider rump. Small ridges popped up along the top of it all the way up her back. And speaking of her back, she grunted in pain for a moment as large wings ripped out of her shoulder blades.
And it was done
She stood there a dragon, standing on her hind legs blinking at her reflection as her brother cowered in the corner.
“How…?” she started, and gasped as, not only was her voice an octave deeper, but a small tongue of flame had leapt from her scaly lips when she spoke.
