It was three months later. Jay had wondered if he should finally change the other two back, since the prank was starting to get tiresome.
Sean walked into the room. "Ooh... I'm not feeling so good," he said.
Now, Jay was smart enough to realize some of the possibilities, so he asked the correct question. "You haven't been having periods for a while, have you?" asked Jay.
"Well, no," said Sean, "but you know how it is, guys like me don't have them as regularly as girls do, they can be off by a lot."
"But not by months," said Jay. "Maybe you're pregnant. In fact, looking at you, I'm sure you're pregnant. Maybe the first guy ever to be so." There was, indeed, enough of a bulge in Sean's stomach that he could be....
"I hope not," said Sean. "I wouldn't know what to do if I was."
Quickly, Jay went to his room and turned on the computer--since Sean had forgotten the Chronivac, Jay had decided to take it, at least until the prank was over. He attached the emitter to his computer, stretched out the cord so the emitter pointed through the crack under his door into the hall, and waited for Sean to come by. Soon he had a scan of Sean.
The scan did after all show that Sean was almost three months pregnant. And Jay still had the Chronivac. And the prank was old hat by now, and maybe there was something else he could do that would make a better prank....
