Before they knew it, Carrie and John were in front of the reception desk of the hotel. The receptionist was a lady dragon, a rather plump and feminine one at that. She batted her eyes at John as he signed the guest book. "Thanks, cutie. You two have a good time here in Toon World." She looked significantly at the costumes and smiled. John saw the look and was disturbed, he wasn't sure why.
Carrie and John started for the stairs to their room. John turned to look back. The receptionist was staring at him, head in a clawed hand. She winked and blew a heart-shaped ring of smoke his way. Startled, John turned back and nearly dragged Carrie to their room.
The door closed, they were safely in private. Away from odd toons. John threw his bunny costume on the bed and flopped down on an arm chair, exhaling. "I'm a bit hungry, would you like some room service?" John asked.
Carrie nodded. "Sounds good." She watched John pick up the antique looking phone and order some food. John sat back down, now in private and having lost his confidence about putting on the costume. The dragon's behavior had disturbed him. He didn't know if he wanted to act like that. He wasn't sure that the costume wouldn't have some kind of effect or not. Right now, he wasn't sure he wanted to find out.
Carrie had smoothed her mouse costume out and was holding it up to herself to measure. It looked like it would fit perfectly. She looked over at John. "Well...?" She asked expectantly.
