Carrie handed John a mass of orange, with bits of yellow and green in spots. It was very thin and light and had no padding. He held the costume out at arms length and got a huge toothy grin in return. It was a jack-o-lantern costume. The body was large and looked round (he'd have to spread it on the ground to see how large it really was), the arms and legs were fashioned to be extensions of the green stalk, leaves sprouted at various points. The head, attached to the body, the bottom half was orange pumpkin while the top was green stalk.
Carrie was grinning at John. She saw his confusion and said, "C'mon, John, you like Hallowe'en, don't you? This'll be fun! Why try something as common as a silly rabbit or donkey? Why not be something really different?"
John nodded, she had a point. Why come here and not go all out?
