Walking through the gate, you expect to be out of the house of horrors. Much to your surprise, all you find is blackness. You do your best to stumble through it, eventually finding your way to eight brown cardboard boxes, each labeled with a number written on the front in blood red and illuminated by a single spotlight. On one of them lies a piece of stone engraved with text - a poem, on further inspection:
In one box there hides a key,
And finding it shall set you free.
In another nothing hides;
Choose this and escape through other rides.
But choose one of the other four
And find ye changed forevermore!
Pretty straightforward, you figure. One in eight odds that you get out of here just by opening one of those boxes. Then again, three in four that you're "changed forevermore"? Admittedly not the most appealing prospect. Nevertheless, with nothing but shadows behind, in front, and all around you and those boxes, it doesn't look like you have much of a choice. Maybe you'll just have to gamble on one of them and hope it works out in your favor.
