Pleasure Island

An Unexpected Stopover

added by SailorBoy 15 years ago O

On the way back from a tour of the Far East, a Royal Navy frigate drops anchor offshore from Pleasure Island. The captain, curious as to why it doesn't show up on his charts, sends a small team ashore in a motorized dinghy, asking them to reconnoitre the place and assess its suitability for a day's R&R (Rest and Recreation) for the rest of the crew.

Dressed in smart RN tropical uniform: white square-necked T-shirt, starched white shorts with a black belt, plus black socks and boots, the small, officer-led team secure their dinghy and head off into the them park. Everywhere they look they see boys and young men of all ages, all having fun and availing themselves of everything Pleasure Island has to offer. But how on earth did they get here? the sailors wonder. The nearest port is a formidable distance away, even with a fast engine - too far for regular ferries to operate from. The lads must have come here some other means - a cruise ship, maybe...

Feeling immensely thirsty all of a sudden, CPO Jamieson and the ratings who have accompanied him enter the first bar they see. To their delight, the barman gives the four guys a beer on the house, adding, "if you fancy a game of pool, boys, that's free, too." Grinning, the sexy, suntanned sailors head over and start setting up a game...
