You lead Paul to your bedroom and throw him some clothes - baggy jeans, CK boxers, white wifebeater, a puffy red vest, and Nikes. He dresses quickly, still a
bit shocked.
You walk him down to the local barbershop - it's owned by your uncle. He'll know how to treat Paul right. As you walk, you think of how he needs a new name,
and "Paolo" sounds too pansy for him. He's a real man now. After a second, you decide to refer to him as Miguel, knowing he won't know the difference.
You arrive at the barbershop - "Hola, tio. El se llama Miguel y necesito un cambio." Your uncle nods gravely, and ushers the kid into the barber chair. You tell
your uncle to give him the works.
Tio begins his work, taking out the clippers. He snaps on a number 2 attachment, buzzing the crown of Miguel's head. The medium length black locks soon fall
around his head, and after the top is sheared to a number 2, Tio switches the blade for a #000, shaving the sides of the head into a sharp fade. Miguel's bangs still
hang sloppily over his forehead, but he has different plans for them. Turning around, Tio mixes up a thick white paste, bleach. He applies it to Miguel's bangs,
ironically trying to turn them back into the blonde he once was. While the bleach is doing its work, he tips Miguel back in the chair and begins to shave his face.
The straight razor work is very detailed - he ends up shaving a hairline beard down the jaw, across the lip and the chin. He's got a very sharp pencil-thin beard that
accents the jaw. It's time for the bleach to be washed out, and the bangs come out a golden blonde color. He grabs so brylcreem from a tube on the counter
behind him and slicks the bangs back across the kid's newly buzzed head.
The chair is turned around toward the mirror... You've already seen that Miguel is looking like a new man. What does he see?
