"What's the matter, Luke?"
"I-I-put on--it's your gift, Uncle John. The rubber paws you sent, they'll become attached to me, and--"
"Say, no more, Luke, obviously you didn't read the instructions. The latex will continue to spread until it covers you completely. I know I'll send your cousin Erik over with something to straighten you out."
"Straighten me out?"
"Straighten things out," Uncle John corrected himself.
"When will he get here?"
"Why don't you go unlock the kitchen door, and he should be there in about 10 minutes, Luke. Perhaps while you're waiting you might like to take a shower?"
"A shower? Can the latex wash off?"
"No, but you want it to be clean and lint free for what Erik will do. Just a sec, Luke," Uncle John set the phone down and shouted, "Erik, get down here. Your cousin Luke needs you to take the wringer over to his house!"
"Aw, Pops, do I gotta?" complained Erik's voice in the background.
"Yes!" Then addressing Luke again, "Erik should be there. You don't need to worry one little bit. Now go unlock the door."
"Alright, Uncle John," Luke answered uncertainly but also relieved that help was on the way.
John smiled as he hung up the phone. It rang as soon as the receiver clicked down. John raised an eyebrow and picked up the phone, "Hello?" He thought maybe Luke rang back.
"John, it's Jim, uh, it's about that gift you sent," John's brother said. He had opened his red box with the green bow.
"Jimbo, don't worry yourself one bit, I'll take care of everything."
